Love out loud

Have you ever been in a relationship in which the other person was afraid to go public? You know, quite happy to promise you all sorts of things which never materialise, only hanging out with you in private; but not so keen on you coming to their home to be introduced to their family and friends? When you’re in a relationship with God, He is with you always and there’s a standing invitation to His home. And every step of your journey through the wilderness, God invites you to catch a glimpse of the glory awaiting you in His promise. Moses said to the people, “…You shall rejoice in all the good which the LORD your God has given you and your household. You shall say before the LORD your God…. ‘Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people… as You swore to our fathers.’ You have today declared the LORD to be your God, andthe LORD has today declared you to be His people, a treasured possession, as He promised you, and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, for praise, fame, and honour; and that you shall be a consecrated people to the LORD your God,” (Deuteronomy 26: 11; 17-19 NRSV). Do you realise how much God loves you? You’re so special that God has prepared a home for you and Him to be together forever. As you stand at the altar before God, say a prayer asking Him to look down from heaven and bless you. You’ll have the opportunity to tell God how much you love Him and He will declare His love for you too, out loud and in public. You belong to God. You’re highly valuable to God: His treasured possession, exclusively consecrated to Him. God’s going to show you preferential treatment. And this relationship isn’t going to be a hush-hush affair – God’s going to show you off in His style: you’ll be set aside for His praise, fame and honour. And you can count on this, God’s track record shows that “not one thing has failed of all the good things that the LORD your God promised concerning you,” (Joshua 23: 14 NRSV). ). Rejoice from now because of the glory that awaits you, when God fulfils His promise in your life.
